Heat Loss – Windows can allow for heat loss during cold weather. Glass especially in older homes, allows heat to escape. Many window treatments can help insulate and keep homes warmer. Window treatments should be a reflection of you and your home’s style. On one clients list of items to complete her new home were window treatments. For some areas, privacy was her primary concern, while beautification was desired elsewhere. For privacy and light control, we chose wood blinds for the flexibility to allow in sunlight during the day but can be closed for privacy at night. Decorative needs were met with a simple but charming valance over a long expanse of windows overlooking her view of the forest behind her new home. The view was not compromised and the treatment enhanced the interior. The fabric and style complimented her choice of furnishings and completed the room beautifully. We were able to meet her requirements and the window treatments chosen reflect her style and personality. For a salon business owner he made a decision to upgrade his window treatments. Well, to be truthful, he was coaxed along by a co-worker with help from me. His remark once we finished was that he could not figure out why he had not done it sooner! We replaced basic mini blinds with more elegantly simple woven wood shades. The salon was beautiful to begin with and had its own personality. By upgrading the window treatments, another layer of personality was added via the windows. The salon’s new window treatments now reflect the inspired personality behind the business.
